Privacy Policy

How Song Maker Online collects, uses and protects your data while the site is in pre-launch.

Song Maker Online ("we", "us") runs songmakeronline.com. The song generator has not launched yet. Today the site offers product information and a waitlist. This policy explains what we collect for those two things. We will update it before the generator launches.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist

  • Your email address.
  • The page you signed up from and the site language you were using.
  • If you typed an idea into the song preview box (for example "a birthday song for my dad"), that text, so we can learn what people want to create.
  • The campaign source of the link you arrived from (the utm_source parameter), the referring website, and the country derived from your IP address by our hosting provider. We do not store your IP address with your signup.

When you browse the site

  • Usage analytics: pages viewed, clicks on buttons and links, approximate location, device and browser type. We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for this. Clarity may record anonymized interactions such as clicks and scrolling to help us fix confusing pages. Text you type into forms is masked.
  • A cookie or local-storage entry that remembers your cookie choice and your language.

Analytics cookies are only set after you click Accept in the cookie banner if you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. Elsewhere they are on by default and you can turn them off by clicking Decline. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your data.

How we use your data

  • To email you when Song Maker Online launches, and at most a few product updates before then. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To understand which pages and features people are interested in, and improve the site.
  • To prevent spam and abuse of the waitlist form.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that run the site for us: hosting, database, email delivery and the analytics tools named above. They may process data outside your country under standard contractual safeguards.

How long we keep it

Waitlist entries are kept until launch and for as long as you stay subscribed afterwards. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to remove you from the waitlist, at any time by writing to support@songmakeronline.com. If you are in the EEA or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13 (16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
