This policy explains what may not be created with Song Maker Online, how we check requests, how anyone can report a song, and what we do when rules are broken. It is part of our Terms of Service and covers everything you enter and everything generated: song descriptions, style tags, titles and lyrics in Text to song and Lyrics to song, the lyrics generator, files uploaded to our tools, and the songs, covers and lyrics that come out.

1. Content that is not allowed

CategoryExamples (not a complete list)What we do
Sexual and pornographic (NSFW) contentSexually explicit or pornographic lyrics, descriptions or songs; songs describing sex acts or genitals; erotic or fetish content; requests marked "NSFW" or "explicit sex"Refused before generation; removed if found; account action
MinorsAny sexual, sexualised or exploitative content involving minors, real or fictional; groomingZero tolerance: refused, removed, account closed permanently, reported to the authorities where the law requires
Hate and harassmentAttacks or slurs against people or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar; threats; bullying a real, identifiable personRefused or removed; account action
Violence and illegal activityGlorifying real-world violence or terrorism; instructions for crimes, weapons or drugsRefused or removed; serious cases escalated
Impersonation and deepfakesImitating a real artist's voice; presenting a song as made or sung by a real person who didn't make itRefused or removed
InfringementLyrics, melodies or recordings you don't have the rights to; other people's trademarks used to misleadRemoved on notice; repeat infringers lose their accounts

Love songs, romance, heartbreak, mild profanity and good-natured roasts are fine, as long as they are not sexually explicit and don't target someone with hate.

Trying to get around these rules (misspelled or disguised words, splitting a request into parts, asking for "clean" lyrics and adding explicit ones later) is itself a violation.

2. How we check requests

Before generation. Every song request (description, style tags, title and lyrics) and every lyrics-generator topic is checked on our servers against a list of sexual and pornographic terms in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German, including common disguises such as replacing letters with numbers. Matching requests are refused before anything is sent to a model, and no credits are charged. Our lyrics generator is also instructed to refuse sexual, explicit and hateful lyrics.

At generation. SongMaker has its own safety filters and may also refuse a request. If it does, the generation fails and your credits are returned.

After generation. Automated checks can't catch everything, so we also act on reports (section 4) and review the account involved.

3. Our AI model (AI-generated content disclosure)

Songs on Song Maker Online are made by SongMaker, our AI music model, in two versions:

VersionCharacter
SongMaker V6Looser, more textured and more surprising
SongMaker V7Reliable, precise and polished in every genre

The studio shows which version you are using. Lyrics from the lyrics generator are written with a separate AI text model. We also use Google Gemini. Every song, cover and lyric made here is AI-generated.

Song Maker Online is built with services from leading technology companies, including Google and Cloudflare, for a stable and reliable service.

4. Reporting a song or an account

Anyone can report content that breaks this policy, whether or not they have an account:

Please include where you saw the content (a link, the song title or a screenshot), what kind of violation it is (sexual or NSFW, minors, hate or harassment, violence or illegal activity, impersonation, infringement, other) and a short description. Reports about minors are always handled first. We don't tell the reported person who reported them.

5. Review and response times

Reports are read by a person, not only by automated systems.

PriorityTypical casesFirst response
CriticalAnything involving minors; threats of real-world harmWithin 24 hours; content disabled as soon as it's confirmed
HighSexual or NSFW songs, impersonation, clear infringementWithin 2 business days
StandardOther violations and unclear casesWithin 3 business days

6. What happens to violating content and accounts

When we confirm a violation we may refuse or cancel generations, and delete or disable the songs involved. Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, the account receives:

  1. a warning by email, for a first, borderline case;
  2. a restriction on generating songs for a period, for repeated violations;
  3. a suspension, for serious or continued violations;
  4. permanent closure, for anything involving minors, distributing sexual content, or repeated serious abuse. Remaining credits and subscriptions may be forfeited where our Terms of Service and the law allow.

We may skip steps for serious violations. We keep the records needed to prevent abuse and meet legal obligations, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Appeals

If you think a request was refused or your content or account was actioned by mistake, email support@songmakeronline.com with the subject Moderation appeal, your account email and what happened. We reply within 5 business days.
